A restored Victorian mansion on a quiet residential street in the Hollerstown Hill district, run as a small owner-hosted bed and breakfast about a ten-minute walk south of the Carroll Creek promenade.

The house is furnished with pieces collected over years of travel rather than decorated to a scheme, which gives the rooms an eclectic, layered feel — turret bedrooms, line-dried linen, silver and china at breakfast, a fireplace with wine set out beside it in the evening. Breakfast is a cooked multi-course affair and is the thing returning guests talk about first.

It is a genuine bed and breakfast rather than a boutique hotel: a handful of rooms, a host who will sit and talk, and no front desk.
