Bear Valley Dam
The stone dam that created Big Bear Lake, with roots in an 1884 single-arch design later expanded into the current structure. On the knoll above sit the ruins of the old Dam Keeper's House — a filming location for the original Frankenstein (1931) — though it is posted private property and best viewed from the road or water. Roadside parking is very limited.
