Bethesda Terrace & Fountain
The formal heart of Central Park: a double staircase leading down to the Angel of the Waters fountain and the lake. The arcade beneath the terrace has a ceiling of 15,000 Minton encaustic tiles and some of the best acoustics in the park, so there is usually a musician playing. Bow Bridge is a short walk west along the lake.
