Boar's Head Resort

A resort on the western edge of Charlottesville, owned by the University of Virginia Foundation, set in landscaped grounds with two ponds and walking paths looping around them. The gardens are the reason to stop even without a room booking: an easy, quiet circuit under mature trees, with the Blue Ridge on the horizon and the golf course spreading out beyond.

The property also holds a spa, tennis and squash facilities, and several restaurants. It sits just far enough outside the city to feel rural while being ten minutes from downtown.
