Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve
One of the largest remaining coastal saltwater marshes in Southern California, restored from former oil and gun-club land into prime habitat for shorebirds, herons, and the endangered Belding's savannah sparrow. Flat loop trails and a footbridge over the tidal inlet make it an accessible birding stop across the highway from the beach.
