C&O RY Charlottesville Coaling Tower

A concrete coaling tower left over from the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway's steam era, standing east of downtown as an unlikely industrial monument. Tucked behind a row of distinctive terraced houses nearby is a small, colourful courtyard with a handful of shops — the kind of odd corner that rewards wandering off the main route.
