Coast Guard Beach
Regularly ranked among America's best beaches: a long barrier spit where Nauset Marsh meets the open Atlantic, backed by the white 1937 Coast Guard station on the bluff. Henry Beston wrote 'The Outermost House' here in the 1920s. Excellent bodysurfing waves, seals offshore, and long walks south along the spit. In summer, private cars must park at the Little Creek staging area and ride the free shuttle.
