Crandon Park
Two miles of wide, palm-fringed beach on Key Biscayne, protected by an offshore sandbar that keeps the water shallow and calm. Behind the sand: picnic shelters with grills, a nature center, a fossilized mangrove reef and free-roaming peacocks left over from the old zoo. The view back toward the downtown skyline at sunset is one of the best in the county. Flat daily parking fee.
