Desert View Watchtower

Mary Colter's 1932 stone tower rises from the canyon's eastern rim like an ancestral puebloan ruin, its interior painted with Hopi murals and its upper windows framing the Colorado River far below. Free timed tickets admit small groups to the top floors; the rim views from the base alone justify the 25-mile drive from the village.
