Easton Historic District

The seat of Talbot County and, with roughly 17,400 residents, the largest town in the county. European settlement in this area began in the 1630s as tobacco plantations under the British crown, and the town centre still carries a well-preserved core of 18th and 19th century brick buildings around Washington Street and the courthouse square. Independent shops, galleries and the restored Avalon Theatre keep it commercially alive rather than merely photogenic. Easton served as one of the principal filming locations for the comedy Wedding Crashers.
