Eleven Mile Canyon

Below the Eleven Mile dam, the South Platte carves a forested granite canyon that the old Colorado Midland Railroad once threaded — its grade now a dirt road passing through three rock tunnels. Renowned for fly fishing, with a resident bald eagle nest, shaded picnic spots and climbing on the canyon walls. A day-use fee applies at the entrance.
