Eleven Mile State Park
A vast high-plains reservoir rimmed by granite outcrops and big South Park sky, long regarded as one of Colorado's premier trout and pike fisheries. Beyond the angling there is boating, paddling, dark-sky stargazing, and a nesting island that draws pelicans, cormorants and herons each summer. Multiple campground loops and a marina sit along a gravel access road; the adjacent Eleven Mile Canyon makes a worthwhile add-on.
