Green-Wood Cemetery
A Victorian garden cemetery from 1838 that was once the second most visited attraction in America after Niagara Falls. Rolling hills, ponds, gothic mausoleums, and the graves of Basquiat, Leonard Bernstein and Boss Tweed. From Battle Hill, the highest point in Brooklyn, a statue of Minerva salutes the Statue of Liberty across the harbor. Wild monk parakeets nest in the Gothic Revival main gate. Pick up a map at the entrance.
