Griffith Observatory

The Art Deco landmark crowning the southern slope of Mount Hollywood, with free public telescopes, a planetarium, and a sweeping balcony view that takes in the city, the Hollywood Sign, and the Pacific. Admission is free; the building closes Mondays. Arrive before sunset for the marquee city-lights view, and expect tight parking.
