Heard Museum
One of the country's premier museums of Native American art and culture, founded in 1929. Its galleries pair historic collections — Hopi katsina dolls, pottery, jewelry, and textiles — with leading contemporary Indigenous artists, plus a powerful exhibit on the American Indian boarding-school era. Set just off Central Avenue with shaded courtyards, a café, and an excellent shop.
