Historic Original McDonald's Museum
The site where Dick and Mac McDonald opened their hamburger stand in 1948 — effectively the birthplace of fast food — now a free, gloriously unofficial museum crammed with donated memorabilia. The original building is long gone (only part of the old sign survives), but the nostalgia and the story are pure Americana, right on Route 66.
