Hugh T. Osborne Lookout Park

A small Imperial County lookout park perched on the western edge of the Imperial Sand Dunes along Highway 78. The elevated viewpoint offers a full panoramic vista of the dune field in all directions, with the Chocolate Mountains as a backdrop — the easiest way to experience the Glamis Dunes without leaving pavement.

Facilities include a paved parking area, restrooms, and picnic tables. Kids can sled or run down the soft dunes right next to the lot. Best light for photos is early morning or late afternoon; midday flattens the dune texture considerably.
