Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina

Purpose-built waterfront hotel that opened in late 2022 in Fisherman's Village at Kent Narrows, the working boat channel connecting the Chester River and Eastern Bay on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

All 120 rooms have at least a partial water view and most have balconies looking out over the marina, with the Bay Bridge crossing just to the west. The building is new enough to feel it: hard floors instead of carpet, a nautical palette, an indoor heated pool with waterfront glass, a 24/7 market and fitness center, and a verandah with a fire pit on the hotel's own 44-slip marina. Free hot breakfast is included.

Practical notes

• Skipjacks, oyster boats and pleasure craft pass the balconies all day — a genuinely good spot to just sit
• Several well-known crab and seafood houses (The Jetty, Fisherman's Inn, The Narrows) are within walking distance
• Free self-parking; dog-friendly for a fee, no EV chargers on site
• About 35 miles from BWI and an easy stop between Washington D.C. and Ocean City or the Delmarva coast
