Kelso Depot

A graceful 1924 Spanish-mission-style railroad depot marooned in the heart of the Mojave National Preserve, its arches and palms an unlikely sight on the empty Kelbaker Road. The interior visitor center is closed for a major HVAC renovation (reopening expected sometime in 2026), but the grounds and exterior remain a striking stop, with restrooms and shade outside.
