McCormick Gap Overlook

The last overlook before Rockfish Gap and the southern park exit, with a wide view west over the Shenandoah Valley where it reaches its full breadth of more than 36 km. Unlike many pull-offs on the drive there is no sheer drop at the edge, which makes it an unusually relaxed spot to stand around with small children.

A short path climbs the slope behind the parking area for a slightly higher vantage. Portable toilets are usually in place at the lower level.
