Mission San Buenaventura

The ninth of California's Spanish missions, founded by Junípero Serra in 1782, and the anchor of downtown Ventura. The active parish church preserves its original bells and timbered ceiling, with a small museum and walled garden beside it. A compact, atmospheric stop in the heart of the old town.
