Museum of Miami

Formerly HistoryMiami (renamed in May 2026), the county's Smithsonian-affiliated history museum in the downtown Cultural Center plaza. Permanent galleries trace 10,000 years from Tequesta settlements through Flagler's railroad, the Cuban exodus and the drug-war 1980s, with strong folklife and photography collections. Also runs excellent walking and boat tours of the city. Open Thursday to Sunday afternoons only.
