New York Transit Museum

A museum in a decommissioned 1936 subway station. Downstairs, on the actual platforms, stands a line of restored subway cars from 1904 to the present: wicker seats, ceiling fans, period ads still in the frames. Cheap, unusual and genuinely fun. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
