Peter Luger Steak House
Since 1887 under the Williamsburg Bridge: beer-hall wood paneling, gruff waiters in aprons, and dry-aged porterhouse for two or more, sliced and sizzling in butter. Order the steak, creamed spinach and German potatoes, skip everything else. Very expensive; reserve well ahead. The lunch-only burger is the budget version.
