Picacho State Recreation Area

A green ribbon of Colorado River oasis at the end of 18 miles of washboard dirt road, deep in the desert north of Winterhaven. Boating, fishing, river beaches, and wild burros reward those who make the rough drive; most visitors come to camp and stay the night.
