Potoma Wayside Parking
A steep three-minute footpath drops from a tiny roadside pull-off to Piney Run Falls, which spills straight into the Potomac at the point where the river breaks through the Blue Ridge. The bank looks out over hundreds of low rock islands and, upstream to the left, toward Harpers Ferry and the Shenandoah confluence where Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia meet. Parking is limited to roughly three cars — arrive early.
