Rainbow Basin Natural Area

A one-way dirt loop winds through wildly banded badlands — rust, pink, green, and white sediment folded and tilted into a desert color show north of Barstow. Best at low sun; passable for most cars in dry weather, and a quiet alternative to the I-15 crowds.
