Roy's Motel & Cafe

The boomerang-shaped neon sign at Roy's is one of the most iconic images on all of Route 66, marking the near-ghost town of Amboy in the deep Mojave. The motel and cafe no longer truly operate — it runs as a (pricey) gas stop and gift shop — but the frozen-in-time setting and that sign make it an essential photo stop.
