Scargo Tower
A squat stone observation tower on Scargo Hill, one of the highest points on the Outer Cape at around 160 feet. A tight interior spiral staircase leads to an open platform with a genuine 360-degree view — Scargo Lake directly below, Cape Cod Bay to the north, and on clear days the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown roughly 20 miles across the water, plus the Sagamore Bridge to the northwest.
Free, unstaffed and open dawn to dusk. Parking is a handful of spaces at the base, so it can back up at sunset, which is when most people come.
A five-minute detour off 6A and the best single viewpoint on the route.
