Strawberry
Perched on the edge of the Mogollon Rim north of Strawberry, this overlook looks south off a 200-mile escarpment and out over the Tonto National Forest — one of the largest continuous stands of ponderosa pine in the world. The land falls away in forested ridges and canyons, the pines fading into chaparral and desert far to the south, with the Mazatzal Mountains on the horizon. A classic Rim Country vista on the SR-87 climb above Pine and Strawberry, with cool air, big skies, and access to the Highline Trail and Fossil Creek in the country below.
