The Biltmore Hotel
George Merrick's 1926 Mediterranean Revival landmark, its tower modeled on the Giralda in Seville, presiding over Coral Gables. The hotel pool is one of the largest in the continental US and once hosted Johnny Weissmuller as swim instructor; the lobby ceilings are hand-painted. A National Historic Landmark and a regular film and TV location. Non-guests can wander the public spaces, have a drink under the arches or take a Sunday historic tour.
