The Paramount Theater
A restored 1931 movie palace on the Downtown Mall, seating around 1,100 and now operating as a year-round performing arts venue for concerts, film screenings, and touring productions. The restoration was thorough and the interior — gilt, deep colours, sweeping balcony — is the single most impressive room in Charlottesville.
Worth attending something if the schedule works, and worth at least looking at the marquee and lobby if not.
