Vienna Waterfront Park
A narrow green strip that takes in the entire Nanticoke River frontage within the town limits of Vienna, a settlement of barely 280 residents founded in 1706. Benches, a pier and open lawn face directly onto the wide tidal river, and the view south follows the water toward the Chesapeake Bay. The town lived on river trade and the surrounding tobacco plantations, and the quiet here now is very much a product of that trade moving elsewhere.
