Wupatki National Monument
Red sandstone pueblos rise from open desert grassland where ancestral Puebloan farmers built a trading crossroads 900 years ago — the largest, Wupatki Pueblo, held around a hundred rooms, a ballcourt, and a natural blowhole that breathes with the barometer. A scenic loop road links Wupatki with Sunset Crater, making the two monuments a natural half-day pairing.
