Zoo Miami

The largest zoo in Florida and one of the few in the US built in a genuinely subtropical climate, so animals live in open moated habitats rather than behind bars. About 3,000 animals across 750 acres arranged by continent: Asia, Africa, Amazon and Beyond, and a Florida section with native species. It is enormous; rent a bike or safari cycle, or use the monorail, and start early before the heat. Allow most of a day.
